Here's a little background info on the area:
As early as the Stone Age, around the year 2500 BC, people began to settle on the long ridge that formed when the ice retreated.
Around Badelunda ridge met the ancient trade routes and waterways, and over the centuries, the area became a cultural center for the entire Western Mälardalen.
This was where people gathered to things, even into the Middle Ages. It was here they sacrificed to their gods, and later asked to the new Christian God. It was here they buried their dead, great and mighty in the burial mounds and stone ships or simple and humble along åsslänten down to the water, all for power and position.
The days of glory lasts throughout the Iron Age, ie from about 500 BC until about 1050 AD.Today the area is therefore one of Sweden's richest and largest archaeological sites.
