Coyote attack?

Today my mom sent me these pics and told me that possibly a coyote (!?) ripped off our gutter spout!! There was apparently a baby rabbit inside since there was blood and they could see a dead rabbit lodged in there. I feel absolutely terrible for the rabbit, but I feel for the coyote too. It must have been starving to go through that much effort for a small bunny and not even get a meal out of it :/
